In countries like Europe people need not come USA just for survival as that is a developed country. Also if they have to wait 10 years to get GC then no Europeans will apply GC as GC is not that much importance. USA will lose them. But it is not the case for indians. If you go out of country then hundreds of people are waiting to take your position in next flight in India. May be in future if Indians also does not bother about GC USA will come and give GC fast.
Why they are not blaming pakistanis? They are small in numbers. In 1990s Indians also were given warm welcome as the number was small and abuses were less. Now over 40K h1bs plus 50K L1s were given in an year. Total number of H1b and L1 are more than 200k. Even most optimistic survey tells that 100k new high tech jobs are created per year that too in good times . Certainly we cannot deny displacement of US workers by immigrants. Can someone with a paypal account come forward and take over a fund? Anyone with a paypal account can donate any amount using a nickname and we can publish the nickname along with the amount donated on this thread. That way we have accountability and also have a better idea of how many flowers we can send. That person with the paypal account can then order the flowers on Saturday by the latest.
Others, if they want, can send the flowers on their own also.
Just a suggestion... If we can do this, I believe more people will come forward!

Just wanted to give you an update on my FP notice. Finally I got FP notice today schedule for 01/29/08. I guess Infopass appointment works. I had infopass appointment on 21st of Dec 2007 and IO told me I should expect FP within 3 weeks . I guess USCIS has started working after a long break. Hang on guys.

got my receipts today.
Case Details:
i-485/EAD/AP sent on 7/25 and reached NSC on 7/26 for my self and my wife.
i-140 still pending at NSC.
Got the receipts for all 6 cases from lawyer today.
i-485 for me and my wife got transfered to TSC and pending.
Case status shows Received on 7/26 and EAD approved for me and my wife from TSC on 09/26.
AP pending in TSC.

140K GCs were available on Oct 1 2005 and Oct 2006: categories were not current.
< 40K GCs were available on June 12 2007: all categories were current.
If there is a law to prevent acceptance of ALL AOS's on Oct 1 (when 140K GCs are available) then that law was violated on June 12 2007.
If there is no law to prevent acceptance of AOS's on June 12 (when < 40K GCs were available) then all categories should have been current on Oct 1 2005 and Oct 1 2006.

And one more thing - "Have a positive attitude" about everything (life, IV, GC etc) and you will notice how much your point of view will change for better.
The best advice I have for you is to join your state chapter because IV does lot of its planning and strategy implementation behind the scenes. That way you will know more about IV's current and future plans, and will be able to contribute in a positive manner.

I think you will get in less than 2 years. It will not take 10 years. Hang on. Total GC process time from applying to labor to getting GC usually is 4 years. some unlucky people had to wait more than that. But more than 80% fall in to 4 year time line.

Thats not true. My PD is March 2005. When my PD comes, I have to apply for EAD whereas others will get GC. Oh such a screwed up system.
