In PA these are the steps to get DL
1) Go with all immigration related documents, with address proofs. (you still get harassed by the way you look, for this, for that and that..)..(I personally had very hard time..) After a long wait, chatting with other associates, he/she will simply say that you need to wait for 3 weeks untill they verify the status with USCIS. (SO EAD IS NOTHING FOR THEM...JUST ANOTHER WASTE CARD)
2) Once your are good.. they will send a letter, saying that your verification is done.. and come with all the laundry list of documents again
3) When you go there the story begins again....see below

He want's to see my employment letter despite having and showing all the necessary documents (EAD, social, I-485, etc...) to him...and his own department verification is not sufficient for him....When I told him that he does not need to see my employment letter, that is the job of immigration services and despite telling my status as I-485 adjustee...he refuse to process my application.. asked for Supervisor and the supervisor was surprised and why the other associate is refused to give DL despite having all the documents.
Finally he took care off it.

Hello all,
it used to be that I would look forwared to the dat DOS cam out with their bulletin, hoping that one day i will be current. that day came last month when i became current. Happiness lasted for a few days, only to realize that those dates means nothing unless your processing center is current as well.
I am from Texas, so the dreadfull TSC is the center processing my application. Last date is march 15, and i am assuming they dont follow the same pattern as DOS, that is to say updating their bulletins every month on a specific date. I am also assumin that their date usually move in increments of days rather then monts, like DOS is doing now days. My PD is August 2005. That leave me 4 months or so before anyone starts to work on my case. I have seen a couple of have been called for interveiws with PD around same time as mine. I dont see any changes on my RD message either. It still sayd, we recevied blaha blah... Generic message letting me know they have gotten my case.
What do you all think when the date usually change. Since I am current, my day to look foward is not on DOS websiter, but USCIS website, hoping that they get to processing Auguts dates soon. I am afraid that DOS might retrogress again, and my current PD will beceome thing of the past.

Again he wants his message to be clear. Here in US, Indians means Native Indians. Everyone till now whom I have come across refer to Indain while they speak and that is for Native Indians and not us. Also our motherland INDIA is in south east asia which is why he clearly said EAST INDIANS. So take a dip in cold water and move on.

Yes, medical forms been changed. Please refer USCIS site for correct form. It is valid for one year but form should be correct.

� Medical form which the USCIS designated civil surgeon is required to use was initially revised on 04/08/2008, followed by the USCIS announcement that any I-693 form version earlier than 04/08/2008 should not be used by the civil surgens from May 1, 2008. In the middle of June, the USCIS released again new version form dated 06/05/2008 and announced that the old version other than 06/05/2008 should not be used effective 07/14/2008. July 14, 2008 is tomorrow. However, without a news release, the USCIS form site extended invalid date of forms earlier than 06/05/2008 to 08/01/2008. Please now note that "Previous editions will be accepted only for medical exams conducted before August 1, 2008. Medical exams conducted on or after August 1, 2008, require use of the 06/05/08 edition," according to the form site instruction.
� There was a confusion in June 2008 on the validity of older version form I-9 because the USCIS form site instructed that the older version was not acceptable from certain date. In Vancouver, the USCIS authority confirmed that the form instruction was an error and the USCIS form instruction has since been corrected. It will help tremendously if the USCIS releases an announcement that the current I-693 form instruction is indeed correct and the civil surgeons can use the I-693 forms which are older than 06/05/2008 version can still be used. In the meantime, the civil surgeons and the immigrants should check on the date of the medical examination with the I-693 form site to protect themselves from any changes. The form site indicates that the information was updated on June 26, 2008. One wonders whether the civil surgeons may be better off to start using the 06/05/2008 version form from even now just to avoid any confusion in the future. they fear any partial immigration reforms will harm their political constituents..namely the hispanic voter base.
They will never come onboard for legals..we have to fight our own battle.
So individual constituents on this forums can have personal views..
As far as I know we HAVE NO STAND on the issue.
Our goal is simple, to seperate ourselves from "undocumented immigrants", we do not call it "illegal immigration" as per our initial IV discussions.
IV stands as an organization for Employment Based Legal Immigration and nothing BUT that. So, again, in short we HAVE no stand on "illegal immigration".

Yes, I believe you can apply for EAD yourself
I believe one can travel on AP. For current employer EAD is only needed when I do not have H1 status.

Most of Eb2 ( Not all ) are qualified for STEM and may release up to 30k visas each year to EB3. that will clear Eb3 backlog in 1-2 years. Don't forget that we have some Eb3 people with STEM degree too.
Actually almost all of EB1A and B will also qualify for STEM and add about 20-30K more each year for spillover.

I have the file numbers etc since I got finger print notice last year so am set up online to track the applications. But just haven't see the receipt notices come through. Should I be concerned?
