my dear friend come back in reality..... to put it least harshly... khayali pulav banana band karo (stop day dreaming)
IV core needs to focus on real issues and obstructions which anti throw our way
I believe that you dismissed my suggestion even before considering or reading it. Mere bhai mai yaha khayali pulav nahi paka raha (Brother Iam not day dreaming). However if you don't like my suggestion / idea I respect your opinion, peace !
First and foremost you do not need approval from anti's just some of their achievements are a) Neufiled h1B memo b) higher H1B fees c) Unnecessary RFE's on H1B extensions (Client Letter etc).
Now coming to the other group Illegals they will never support us "Legals" thank god the dream act is defeated and I hope CIR with illegal amnesty never sees the light of day. Iam sure you know why EB3-I is languished in 2001 for the last 5 years it was 245I.
To cut it short anti's and illegals will neither ever help or support our causes.
Coming to IV efforts they are indeed applaudable, however looks like some in the group like to oppose everything.
1) Allowing everybody to file for 485 if i140 is approved, we have a few who oppose this look at the poll results. Requires change of law.
2) Recapture won't fly with the agencies they won't accept wasted visas thing that easily. Requires change of law.
3) Country cap elimination, folks from ROW will be bitterly opposed to it in the name of diversity but the reality is that it is utterly unfair, in fact EB3 ROW is cruising comfortably but they complain about spillover, some of our friends from EB3-I also talk about the spillover rule but they don't realize the fact that all spillover goes to EB3 Row and it will not be current literally even in the next 5 or maybe 10 years because EB3 ROW has steady demand unlike EB2 ROW.
4) Whats left is excluding dependents from the EB cap, nobody except for illegals and anti's will oppose it. Anyway there seems to be no Cap for Illegals and Anti's but one thing is for sure that they are always united.
Friends once again I wish to say that this is the only unifying idea for the legal immigrant community and this is the way everybody can see green in the next 2 years. No other idea gives green to everybody in a 2 Yr timeframe. I agree it won't fly and requires a change of law but probably its the way to go. I would give all the credit to maverick979 and deepimpact for suggesting this on another blog if I remember correctly.

As per murthy bulletin, EB3 India might become unavailable or will stay where it is.. If i interpret correctly. Looks like EB3 will remain the same. Very disappointing.

Some paras from Criteria for Depression Are Too Broad, Researchers Say Guidelines May Encompass Many Who Are Just Sad (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/02/AR2007040201693.html), By Shankar Vedantam (http://projects.washingtonpost.com/staff/email/shankar+vedantam/), Washington Post Staff Writer, Tuesday, April 3, 2007
Up to 25 percent of people in whom psychiatrists would currently diagnose depression may only be reacting normally to stressful events such as a divorce or losing a job, according to a new analysis that reexamined how the standard diagnostic criteria are used.
The study also suggested that drug treatment may often be inappropriate for people who are experiencing painful -- but normal -- responses to life's stresses. Supportive therapy, on the other hand, may be useful -- and may keep someone who has been through a divorce or has lost a job from going on to develop full-blown depression.
The cost of not looking at context is you think anyone who comes under this diagnosis has a biological disorder, so should more or less automatically get antidepressant medication, and everything else is superfluous," said lead author Jerome Wakefield, a New York University researcher who studies the conceptual foundations of psychiatry. "There is a trend to treat people in this somewhat mechanized way."
Said First: "One issue this would play out at is at the level of medication. If someone has a normal grief reaction, you wouldn't give that person an antidepressant, you would favor counseling. If someone has major depression you would be more likely to medicate. So this could influence how clinicians think about medications or psychotherapy."

wait4ever,
My situation is very similar to yours.
As per CSR "The cards will be sent to the printer in October". I dont know how far it is true or what to make out of it.
Probably she is reading a standard call script. God knows...
Today, I received the approval notice in mail. However I did not get the physical cards. The notice says that I may have to do the biometrics again to get the but need not take any action at this time.

Racial Discrimination Policy followed by USA Immigration
some suggestions on the content that we should put on the banners for the San
Some Quotes from famous people which might help in the rally:
There is nothing less to our credit than our neglect of the foreigner and his children, unless it be the arrogance most of us betray when we set out to ''Americanize'' him. Charles Horton Cooley 1864-1929, American Sociologist
We can add some thing personal below the above statement on the pamphlets
Everywhere immigrants have enriched and strengthened the fabric of American life.
--John F. Kennedy
PS: So Let it be .
America was and is the immigrant's dream.
Don DeLillo
PS: Do not smash it by the incompetent immigration services
Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from IMMIGRATIONs and revolutionists.
Franklin D. Roosevelt 1882-1945, Thirty-second President of the USA
ps:....
The divide of race has been Americas constant curse. They divide us by the country of origin and allocate the green card where in they have to look what an individual can offer to the country.
If you are an Indian or Chinese or Mexican rot for 11 years before you are accepted by the country as a permanent resident. This is what the Immigration law sounds like now.

I have been a passive reader on these forums for the most part.
I would just like to express my appreciation for the work that IV does. I totally support the regular donation thing to gain access to one forum. If you don't want to donate, all you are losing is access to one forum. That forum is only for IV loyals who really believe in IV.
All that's needed is $25 donation to gain access to it. Lobbying in this country needs a lot of money. If you want IV to work for you, then it's the least you could do.
The regular donation thing also spurs some not-so-active guys like me to donate, when we might forget.
As for EB3, and people stressing about concenterating on EB3(I), you can't separate out one legal immigration issue from the other....ultimately all these efforts pay off for all of us. The more you divide all these up, the lesser your number is gonna be and the less likely any lawmakers will help you.
I understand how frustrating it is to wait for so long. I have been working in this country since mid-2000. I lost my H1 at 6 years and had to go on H4 and sit out from work for an year, when IV's push really helped me get my EAD during the July 2007 fiasco. And I am a VLSI Design Engineer who spent the first half of my stay in US as an employee in a big company(AMD), and still couldn't get anywhere with my GC.
I have seen ample cases reported on the Sep approval thread where people on EB2 have been in this country for 10+ years.
Most of us have faced issues with GC. And these issues might be different for all of us. But ultimately, we need to work with a common goal. Pointing fingers at each other in this scenario is the worst we could do to help ourselves, let alone help anyone else.
For those who can put in the time/money to help out IV. Nothing like it. If not, let's atleast appreciate the work people are doing, and let's stick together.

I tried doing that. Convinced the employer to file a new labor for a new position, advertized again, filed a new labor under PERM, applied for a new I-140 and waited for a year for approval ... now the I-140 has been denied for A2P and is under appeal; I must confess that I have lost hope that it'll get re-opened and approved.
So all my efforts for getting a EB2 140 have failed.....what do you recommend, I start this entire process again. Even if I'm willing to bear the cost, the employer will not file yet another labor.
EB3 wait is my only way out now......
thanks
Sorry to hear about your situation. I understand it's not straightforward and easy. But, if you are able to pull it off, there's nothing like it. Some friends of mine were able to port their dates successfully. It is very important to have the employer's full cooperation.
In your case, the A2P RFE is related to the company's financials and not really directly related to the EB3-EB2 porting. I hope your appeal goes through. Good luck!

Technically, we are applicants for immigrant status who are stuck in non-immigrant status indefinitely. A prospective immigrant is different from one granted legal residency (GC holder). Not sure if it makes a difference or not in the eyes of congressmen.

I read and hear the same thing over and over again, NO SAVINGS,
It is also true for me, NO SAVINGS, We all earn a better salary from others since we are high level professionals, born from a indian family. Where are we wrong.
my first 3 years used to save money, from last 3 years i have no savings. better lifestyle than india. Canadian green card backed up. paid paid money to immigration lawyers for US and canada. , NO US education. Helped friends and relatives financially. Setup a business in india, just doing Okay.
Now i am thinking is it worth staying in US away from parents.
1. Good health (which we often take for granted)
YEs
2. US born kids (at least they are citizens, if that's important to you)
Not married no kids
3. US education (a different experience for sure)
No us education
4. Good savings (all said and done, your bank balance is very important no matter where you stay in the world)
No savings no big salary
5. Good work experience (this is transferable and more or less ensures a decent future)
Yeah just started career
6. Loving/caring family/friends (who will always love you the same and couldn't care less about GC or citizenship)
Dont know about that
Been herr from 7 years..

Dionysus,
Mine was a EB2 India, Feb 2006 PD. I was hopeful in the month of august, but then I had lost hope because everybody was saying visa numbers got over. However, surprisingly they approved the case in September. Looks like CIS has many aces ups its sleeve. It never fails to surprise us.
Also, I received only one soft LUD on my application, then suddenly it is card production ordered.. wow.
Anyway, it FREEEEEEEEEEEEDOM...............
Congrats buddy. Can you give some more info about your case please? Like the PD etc.

Is there anyone who is with me, anyone at all? I need around 15 people to kick this off...
I am just looking for three things
a) A letter that we will jointly send to few people. Urging them to follow a fair system.
b) Talk to your lawyer to discss with AILA
c) Talk to you chapter leader.
I have not read your controversial posts others are referring to but about this one, this is a genuine cause and I am with you for this.

Why SKULL bill ? As a high level manager I have learned after years of experience that you need to use good sense of humor, satirize when confronted with insanities and very stressful situations.
I appreciate your effort to make us smile and relieve stress but when you repeateldly
keep using the same stuff, people no longer find it humorous.
You too must have realized it by now as people have started questioning why
you are using this word repeatedly.
It is like telling the same joke time and again and expect people to laugh everytime.
